Morning Star, August 26, 2018, pg. 3 As we approach the end of summer, I thought I’d feature another old Albion baseball team photograph this week Baseball was a major sport for many years during the 20th century in Albion. Each summer there were numerous teams that were formed for all ages. These teams not only played against local teams, but also played against teams from other communities. The Albion Merchants Team was part of the South-Central Michigan League, and in 1937 won the league championship. From our Historical Notebook this week we present a photograph of that team. Front row, left to right: Dale Nutt, Dave Nass, Dick Doty, Don Nutt, John Zatolokin, Fred Cook, Bill Feduniak, Max VanSchoick. Top row: Dr. Ralph Morehouse, Alan Ketchum, __Buntrock, Harold Nass, Dick Ribbey, Frank Passic (father of yours truly), Dick Thurow, Leon Thomas. How many of our readers remember these players?
