Albion Mayor William Wheaton generated a ripple of laughter as he made a quip during the end of a series of speeches May 2 at the Family Health Center of Albion. Wheaton was among several local, state, and national dignitaries who spoke at the occasion. Albion City Council member Betty Branche was also on hand for the occasion.
Albion College President Peter Mitchell was an unscheduled speaker at the May 2 official opening of greater Albion’s newest health care facility.
Mitchell was called upon to speak by A. J. Jones, president and chief

Mitchell was one the first people to come forward, following the closing of
Trillium Hospital, to begin the process of reinventing how heath care is
done in mid-Michigan.
