MAYOR CUTS RIBBON
City of Albion Mayor William Wheaton proudly cuts the red ribbon
during open house ceremonies at the new Family Health Center of
Albion on Friday, May 2. The ribbon cutting ceremony was provided
by the Greater Albion Chamber of Commerce to officially welcome
the new health care facility to Albion . |

WHEATON ADDRESSES CROWD
Albion Mayor William Wheaton generated a ripple of laughter as he
made a quip during the end of a series of speeches May 2 at the
Family Health Center of Albion. Wheaton was among several local,
state, and national dignitaries who spoke at the occasion. Albion
City Council member Betty Branche was also on hand for the occasion. |

PETER MITCHELL AT OPEN HOUSE
Albion College President Peter Mitchell was an unscheduled speaker
at the May 2 official opening of greater Albion’s newest health
care facility.
Mitchell was called upon to speak by A. J. Jones, president and
chief
executive office of the Family Health Center of Albion. Jones noted
that
Mitchell was one the first people to come forward, following the
closing of
Trillium Hospital, to begin the process of reinventing how heath
care is
done in mid-Michigan. |

FURNITURE FROM STATE FARM
Several pieces of the office furniture in the new Family Health
Center of
Albion were donated by State Farm Insurance. |

MAGGIE THE CAMERAWOMAN
Maggie LaNoue, of Albion Design and Albionmich.com, filmed the event
for posterity using video equipment on loan from Battle Creek Accessvision. |

MAGGIE AND DOUG
Maggie LaNoue, working the camera, and Doug Searls, crouching with
the clipboard, were among a large group of Albionites who gathered
at the Family Health Center of Albion on Friday, May 2 to witness
the official grand opening and ribbon cutting for the new health
care facility. |
The Ribbon Cutting will be featured on the upcoming
video "Positive News About Albion - May 2003" which will be
aired on Battle Creek AccessVision TV, Albion Public Access TV, and available
in DVD format at the Albion Public Library, by early June 2003. The video
presentation is produced by Maggie LaNoue and narrated by Cathy Campbell.
