Among the educational alternatives at the Albion Public Schools that prepare young adults for their future goals is the Calhoun Area Technology Center. The Center offers a variety of programs that provide opportunities to learn specific job skills. Participation prepares students for employment upon graduation. They are also given first-hand knowledge of vocational areas that have excellent potential for further education and training.

Students apply for CATC in the tenth grade. Those who meet the qualifications may attend in their junior and/or senior year. They spend a half-day at the CATC specializing in a vocational area and earn three (3) credits a semester. The other half-day is spent at Albion High School fulfilling high school graduation requirements.
