Troop 172, Eagle Scout Candidate
The "Chili Cook-off" fundraiser for Eagle scout candidate Jonathan MacQueen went very well on Saturday Feb. 1. He earned enough money to reach his goal to help purchase banners for Northwest Neighborhood Association. (Neighborhood Watch group). The "Best Chili Cook in Albion," was voted upon and determined.
First place is Bob Haskins, a tie for second place with Odell Mastin, and James Collier.
There was a three way tie for third place, with Ben Wade, Gerald MacQueen (the elder) and Gordan Paul, all placing.
Jon wishes to thank all of the cooks, and all of the guests, who took the time to participate. Jon plans to join the Air Force after he graduates in June. He will be eligible for his Eagle rank in Boy Scouts as soon as the banners are in place, which is his Eagle Scout project.
Troop 172 will be continuing its fundraising with delicious Almond chocolate candy bars in many downtown businesses in the near future. We will announce the locations as soon as we have a complete list. The Troop 172 trip to Annapolis to the Naval Academy went well, and our next big project is saving up for a high adventure trip to Philmont in New Mexico, probably in 2004.
