Other minutes:
Scouts are reminded to keep a running notebook of activities related
to scouting and merit badges. All volunteer work, service work,
hikes. (notebook is required.)
Also discussion of trailer insurance. Eric Krause will ask if
church can cover with their policy and we reimburse them.
Popcorn sales start the end of this month. Most scouts sell $200
of product each. Need someone to handle all sales. probably $1,000
or so. starting 10 or 17th.
Decisions - short of leaders within the next year. Terry Anderla winding down. Eric will be resigning (Troop Committee Chairman) in June 2001. John Dack has 2-3 Webelos, might pick up some new scouts, potential new leadership Jan or Feb. that will help.
Ideas - different types of activities to attract new
boys What are other troops doing? Need to identify all other local
troops, how many participants, what are they doing etc. Some discussion
of trip to Virginia next summer for Jamboree. (when is it?) Cost
will be $450 per boy to attend in an unofficial capacity. Any
fundraisers that could help?
Also - we will be doing calendar planning and other brainstorming
via email in the future as much as possible. We can do more of
this type of work with less time spent in meetings this way. A
list of leadership positions and all scouts & parents will
follow. If you have email send your address of any family members
to: maggie@albionmich.com.
