Legend of the Sleeping Bears
A bear family is strolling through a forest of birch trees. They are in northern Michigan, and looking forward to a summer of fishing and hiking. The little bears are good bears, and are following their mother's example. She knows where some good food is, and is showing the way. The artist has captured this happy moment (notice the mother bear's smile), and the soft texture of the bear fur, the growing grass on the forest floor, and the shadows between the trees. The artist used pencil, marker and crayons on manilla paper.
