Pastel Dancers
The artist used oil pastels on construction paper to get the vibrant colors, and soft edges of this artwork. The assignment was to do modeling work along the lines of Renoir. The style is impressionist. It is interesting to see how just a few blocks of color show a man and woman, dressed for a night on the town, or perhaps ready for church. They do make a handsome couple, obviously in love.
