This artist worked with a black background to begin. There is an interesting dynamic between the drybrush style white frame, that is rustic in nature, and the cartoon-like face of the Joker that peers out from within this frame. The Joker, which is obviously a fictional character, is painted with precision strokes, while the frame, painted loosely, looks quite lifelike.
