In this art assignment, (a "non objective" painting) the artist was allowed more freedom of expression than the earlier assignment using only primary and secondary colors. These colors were acheived by mixed intermediate colors to arrive at a palette of blended colors. However, there were some restrictions the artist had to follow. The contours of the shapes were arrived at by drawing lines and filling in each section with a different color. The hardest part of the assignment was that the colors all started from one base color, and created by adding to that color. In order to accomplish this, the artist started with a light color, and ended up with the darkest colors.
