High School Football Combine
In collaboration with Albion College, the Recreation Department will he having a football combine for area high school students.  The football combine will be held Saturday May 1, 2004. Athletes will be tested in the 40 yard dash, the vertical leap, the bench press, and the 5 yard shuttle run.

The fee will remain $40, $50 on the day of the event. It will take place on Albion College at the Dow Center. Registration will begin at 10:00am

 

National Youth Sports Program
(5-16)
The NCAA & Albion College are partnering to offer a sports/enrichment camp for area youth. more >>


Girls and Boys Youth T-Ball (ages 5&6More>>
and Supervised Pitch (ages 7&8More>>

These are instructional based programs. Mass registration on May 14th and May 15th at Victory Park.

 

Boys Baseball (9-12)
The Recreation Department is offering an extensive baseball program for boys ages 9-12.  The program will teach essential baseball skills, and is designed to be a continuation of the Supervised Pitch program.  Games will be played at Ketchum Field. The Summer Enrichment Program
info from 2003:
This five-week camp is for youth ages 14-18, and will begin June 16.  It will take place daily from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Holland Park.  Daily activities will be led by the Albion High School coaching staff, and campers will participate in weekend, out of town tournaments.  Along with daily basketball activities, youth will have the opportunity to participate in character development workshops, led by professional speakers, to do mentoring with Kids 'N' Stuff, develop a college/employment portfolio, and receive employment opportunities.

Fee: $20/camper.

Victory Park Summer Day Camp (7-12)
Info for 2004: This camp will be happening in 2004, from 9 am- 3 pm
Fee: $10 per week, or $30 for three weeks. Coordinator is Deona Peace-Moorehead

Info from 2003: This three-week day camp will begin on July21, and each week has its own fun theme! 
July 21-25: Survival Week, July 28-August 1: Alternative Sports Week, August 4-8: Albion Olympics.  Each camp will feature a field trip on Thursday that pertains to the weekly theme.  These trips will be announced on each Monday. 

Tennis
Info for 2004: Tennis will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 p.m.

Fee: $10.

This program is designed to teach tennis basics.  Lessons will take place at the Albion College tennis courts.

Fun, games, and enrichment activities will take place daily from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. in Holland Park for students in grades 1-6.  Participation in this program is free.

The City of Albion sponsors a Summer Service program for children and youth. Free meals are available to youth 18 and under, or persons up to age 26, who are enrolled in an educational program for the mentally or physically disabled.
