Youth Media Bureau

Overview

The purpose of the Youth Media Bureau is to instruct youth between the ages of 8-18 on how to report, edit and produce news stories for print, (and at some time in the future possibly radio and video) for adult media sources on issues that affect kids and are of interest to people of all ages.

Another aspect of the program is to publish these articles on the web, and to publish on-line Albion's dedication to Positive Youth Development.

Program Description

There are two paid youth positions and a varying number of unpaid openings for youth eager and willing to learn. Youths undergo an application process where their skills, abilities and enthusiasm are evaluated. Youths selected for the program must exercise good communication skills, possess good spelling and grammar, and be outgoing and curious. They must also be reliable and punctual.

Who may participate in the program?

6th-12th grades
