Morning Star, August 14, 2011, pg. 6. We recently held our Albion High School Class of 1971 40th Reunion on the Riverboat cruise in Lansing, and had a fantastic time seeing old classmates again. Class member Gladys (Evans) Reid supplied yours truly with one of our class’ elementary school photos they used to make in the 1960s. I’ve not seen this one before. From our this week we present that photo of the 1964-65 6th grade class at Crowell School taught by Mrs. Wilma Miller. In those times children went to school in their own neighborhood before bussing was instituted. Front row, left to right: Mrs. Wilma Miller, M. Darrell Conley, Roberta Harper, John Gonzalez, Paula Larry, Johnny Moore, Debbie March, Rick Ortiz, Diane Estelle. Second row: Glenn Miller, Everett Wilson, Frank Goins, Willa Mae Jiles, Ron Sanders, Keith Fisher. Third row: Leatta Murphy, DeLane McKinney, Marsha Banks, Fairstene Miller, Christine McCracken. Top row: Sue Westbrook, Pat Pierce, Jesse Mosley, Pat Johnson, Harold Kemp, Judy Powell, David Curtis Byrd, Gladys Evans, Thomas Abrams. Special thanks to Gladys (Evans) Reid for this week’s photo. If you have similar Albion elementary school photos, I would be more than happy to copy them and publish it here in this column with identifications if you know them. People like old photos like this, and those published as part of my articles are later placed on the www.albionmich.com website.
