AHS Class of 1974!A mailing was suppose to have gone out regarding our twenty-fifth reunion. But in talking with some of my classmates, they haven't received any notice. (And neither have I.) So I phoned Isabelle Flores-Nazar last weekend. (Yes...she can STILL talk at 95 MPH!!) Time: 1999-06-22 13:21:46 Comments: I live in Georgia now but I used to live Albion when I was little. I moved to Ga. in June of 1980. Been here ever since only times I have been back was when i went back in early 80's with my parents, and when we went back in '85 when my mother passed away, my father passed in '87, my grandmother passed in '88, and my grandfather passed in '98 but i unable go do to personnal resonse. The reason why I am on this website is that I have getting alt stange dreams about my old town and my childhood fiends.Yes, I still can remember my childhood friends. I am just trying locate a few of them I guess to make sure they are ok.You know how some people get those strange feelings. So if anybody recognizes my name or possibly even my father Russ Courtright, or my grandfather John Sovjak he used to be a postman in the '70's. I know some of the names of the people i am looking for but they may changed so e-mail me back and i will give some body the names if anybody is interested. Also check out my website. In any event, I've just released my third album (my first on CD); titled "Reap the Wind". Much of this album was composed in Albion; and early feedback I've gotten on it has been very, very good. Stylistically; it's an acoustic folk music album; I supply most of the vocals and instrumentation (6 and 12 string guitars). The CD is $16, plus $2 for postage and handling. Her name at the time was Tessie Iva Lazarus. (maiden name Demarest) Could anyone give me the name of the cemetery where she was most likely buried? Also, is there a genealogical society in Albion? I drove through Albion about a week ago on my way from Detroit to Kalamazoo (made exit too soon) and thought it certainly looked like a charming old community. Some day would like to go back and look around more closely. |
