ALBION HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1921

Each year at this time we feature the Albion High School Class of 100 years ago. The class of 1921 had sixty-eight members. Thirty-six were female, and thirty-two were male. The valedictorian was Florence Hembdt. The class motto was "Deeds, not Dreams." The graduation commencement speaker was Charles McKenney of Ypsilanti.

In looking through the class list, one of the most prominent graduates was Jack C. Bedient, who purchased the Albion Evening Recorder and ran it for many years. Another graduate, Philip M. Henderson, became a local physician and surgeon. His former office building at 109 W. Erie St. was recently demolished.

The members of the AHS Class of 1921 were: Frederick J. Adams, Lee Orson Balinger, George S. Barnes, Alice M. Barratt, Frances Louise Bascom, Phebe E. Bascom, M. Irene Bauer, Jack C. Bedient, Adah L. Billings. Theo M. Broxholm, Lanora I. Carter, Ralph L. Clark, Harry E. Conrad, Paul E. Corliss, Bernadene M. Culkins, Francis N. Culver, Hildreth B. Culver, Helen M. Davison, Helen E. Dean, Josephine Dibble, Louis W. Engelter, Rozette E. Fahrion, Donna Marie Findley, Ethelyn M. Foote, J. Gerald Gaskell, Ethel E. Gilbert, Glen S. Griffin, Florence E. Hembdt, and Philip M. Henderson.

Continuing, Hazel M. Hoaglin, Margaret J. Houck, Grace M. Houseman, Harold O. Howe, Hilda H. Jenkins, Paul W. Kingman, Marian K. Krenerick, Fay L. Langridge, John H. Larscheidt, Ellen K.
